Crowdfunding Manager
Position: Crowdfunding Manager
Engagement type: Freelance
Workload: 20 to 40 hours per week
Location: Fully remote (CET timezone ±4 hours)
Important Security Requirement
We work with people under political persecution. For security reasons, we cannot collaborate with individuals who live in Russia, Belarus, or Central Asian countries, or who travel to these countries. This is a strict requirement, and no exceptions can be made.
About Us
EQUAL PostOst e.V. is a European human rights organization supporting LGBTQI people from Eastern Europe and Central Asia who are facing political persecution. At present, the majority of our requests come from queer individuals under persecution in Russia.
We work on evacuation and relocation, provide consultations and risk assessments, support humanitarian visa applications to safe countries, offer short-term accommodation, and provide legal and psychological assistance. We also engage in advocacy within the EU and prepare analytical and human rights reports for European institutions.
Our mission is to help people stay safe and protect their rights. At this stage, it is important for us to build a sustainable system of individual donations that complements grant funding and allows us to respond more quickly to emerging needs.
Your Role
You will be responsible for developing crowdfunding within the organization. This role goes beyond launching individual campaigns. It involves gradually building a clear and sustainable system of recurring donations. It is important to understand how people come to support us, set up processes, further develop the existing base, test what works, and identify what influences decision-making, with the goal of building long-term support. You will work closely with the team, participate in meetings, propose solutions, and take ownership of implementation.
Your Responsibilities
• Develop and launch crowdfunding campaigns with a focus on recurring donations
• Improve and further develop the existing donation system (website, forms, user flow)
• Build a clear donor journey, from first contact to long-term support
• Test hypotheses and continuously improve conversion
• Work with and expand the existing donor base
• Coordinate with the communications team and leadership
• Monitor results and adjust approaches accordingly
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who understands that crowdfunding is a structured, ongoing effort built on trust and responsibility. It is important for us that you not only initiate ideas but also bring them to tangible results.
Our expectations:
• Experience in crowdfunding, marketing, or working with donor systems, or a strong interest in this field
• Willingness to work with technical details and improve existing solutions
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Strong focus on results and ability to follow tasks through to completion
• Proficiency in English
• Russian as a working language
• Interest in LGBTQI rights, migration, and political persecution
This role is unlikely to be a good fit if you prefer to focus only on the creative side without implementation or if you are looking for fully established processes from the start.
What We Offer
• Work where your decisions have a direct and tangible impact on people’s safety and lives
• A meaningful role in a young, professional, and engaged human rights team where mutual support is part of the culture
• Fully remote work and a flexible schedule, with respect for personal boundaries and individual pace
• An opportunity to grow with the organization, influence processes, and build sustainable solutions rather than simply execute tasks
• Access to professional trainings, international conferences, and hands-on experience working within the EU context
Conditions
• Part-time engagement (starting from 20 hours per week) with the potential to expand the role and workload
• Possibility of transitioning to a full-time role upon successful collaboration
• Flexible schedule and fully remote format
• Start date: May 2026
How to Apply
Please send your application to [email protected] with the subject line: Crowdfunding Manager. Please include:
• CV (up to 2 pages)
• Two references from your previous employement or projects
• A short text (up to 1 page) answering the following questions:
– What is your experience with crowdfunding or donor systems?
– How would you approach building a system of recurring donations?
Deadline: 10 May 2026. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
Important
We do not consider candidates who have supported Russian aggression against Ukraine, or who have been involved in any forms of racism, antisemitism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, or anti-migrant discrimination. We also consider the slogan “from the river to the sea” unacceptable.
We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment within the team.
