Language Courses Coordinator
Position: Language Courses Coordinator
Engagement type: Volunteer position or internship
Location: Fully remote (CET timezone ±4 hours)
Important Security Requirement
We work with people under political persecution. For security reasons, we cannot collaborate with individuals who live in Russia, Belarus, or Central Asian countries, or who travel to these countries. This is a strict requirement, and no exceptions can be made.
About Us
EQUAL PostOst e.V. is a European human rights organization supporting LGBTQI people from Eastern Europe and Central Asia who are facing political persecution. At present, the majority of our requests come from queer individuals under persecution in Russia.
We work on evacuation and relocation, provide consultations and risk assessments, support humanitarian visa applications to safe countries, offer short-term accommodation, and provide legal and psychological assistance. We also engage in advocacy within the EU and prepare analytical and human rights reports for European institutions.
Our mission is to help people stay safe and find sustainable solutions for building their lives in the EU. Language courses are an important part of this work, as language directly affects opportunities for integration, education, and employment.
Your Role
You will coordinate language courses within the organization. This includes working with teachers and participants, scheduling classes, organizing groups, and handling organizational matters.
It is important not only to maintain the current operation of the courses, but also to gradually build a clearer and more sustainable system: how groups are formed, how the learning process works, and how participants progress further.
Your Responsibilities
• Coordinate language courses (schedules, groups, teachers)
• Communicate with course participants
• Support teachers with organizational matters
• Form and update groups
• Monitor attendance and engagement
• Handle ongoing organizational tasks
• Contribute to improving the structure and processes of the courses
• Maintain basic documentation
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with both people and organizational tasks.
It is important to be able to maintain structure while remaining attentive to people, many of whom are in difficult life situations.
Our expectations:
• Interest in education, coordination, or working with groups (experience is a plus but not required)
• Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and calmly
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow tasks through to completion
• Ability to manage multiple processes at the same time
• Russian as a working language
• Good command of English is a plus
• Interest in migration, integration, and LGBTQI rights
This role is unlikely to be a good fit if you are not comfortable communicating frequently with people or if you find it difficult to work in an environment where not all processes are fully established.
What We Offer
• An opportunity to gain practical experience in coordinating educational programs
• Work in a supportive and engaged team
• Flexible format and the possibility to combine with studies or other activities
• Understanding of how real processes function in a non-profit organization
• A chance to contribute to work that directly impacts people’s lives and integration
Conditions
• Volunteer position or internship
• Flexible schedule and fully remote format
• Level of involvement to be agreed
• Start date: May 2026

Important
We do not consider candidates who have supported Russian aggression against Ukraine, or who have been involved in any forms of racism, antisemitism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, or anti-migrant discrimination. We also consider the slogan “from the river to the sea” unacceptable.
