Position: Education & Opportunities Consultant
Location: Fully remote (CET timezone ±4 hours)
Important Security Requirement
We work with people under political persecution. For security reasons, we cannot collaborate with individuals who live in Russia, Belarus, or Central Asian countries, or who travel to these countries. This is a strict requirement, and no exceptions can be made.
About Us
EQUAL PostOst e.V. is a European human rights organization supporting LGBTQI people from Eastern Europe and Central Asia who are facing political persecution. At present, the majority of our requests come from queer individuals under persecution in Russia.
We work on evacuation and relocation, provide consultations and risk assessments, support humanitarian visa applications to safe countries, offer short-term accommodation, and provide legal and psychological assistance. We also engage in advocacy within the EU and prepare analytical and human rights reports for European institutions.
Our mission is to help people stay safe and find sustainable solutions for building their lives in the EU. We are currently strengthening our work on identifying educational and career opportunities, including as one of the possible pathways for relocation.
Your Role
You will help people navigate opportunities in the EU, both after relocation and as a possible pathway for relocation. This includes searching for and identifying relevant options for education, scholarships, internships, volunteering programs, and employment, taking into account each person’s specific situation, documents, language level, and constraints.
It is important not just to compile a list of options, but to help people understand which of them are realistically achievable and how to approach them. This also includes supporting the preparation of CVs, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles so that individuals can effectively apply for opportunities.
The work is case-based: you analyze each situation, propose solutions, and support the process through practical recommendations. At the same time, you help systematize information so that the team can use accumulated knowledge.
Your Responsibilities
• Search for and identify educational programs, scholarships, internships, and volunteering opportunities in the EU
• Work with individual cases: analyze each situation and suggest realistic scenarios
• Prepare recommendations and clear next steps
• Support the preparation of CVs, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles
• Systematize information and build a database of opportunities
• Update and verify the relevance of information
• Coordinate with the relocation team and other areas
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with information and understands how educational and career opportunities in the EU are structured. It is important not only to find options, but also to assess how applicable they are in each specific situation.
Our expectations:
• Experience in research, education, career consulting, or related fields
• Understanding of the EU education system and opportunity landscape
• Ability to quickly find, verify, and structure information
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and a considerate approach when working with people in difficult life situations
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Good working proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus
• Russian as a working language
• Interest in migration, adaptation, and LGBTQI rights
What We Offer
• Work that directly helps people find real opportunities for relocation and life in safe countries
• A meaningful role within a professional human rights team
• Flexible collaboration format
• Opportunity to influence the development of this area and build structured solutions
Conditions
• Part-time engagement
• Flexible schedule and fully remote format
• Start date: May 2026
